Saturday morning rolls around and I’m sitting on my front porch drinking a coffee and reading a book after my run. I just got this new wicker chair and added a big comfy cushion to it. In these moments, I feel like there is nothing else that I could want. The universe chooses this moment to have a shirtless Sam ending his run and doing stretches in his driveway. No, I do not need anything else in this moment I try to tell myself, especially not him! Unfortunately, I can’t seem to look away.

I slouch down in my chair so he cannot see me spying on him. He really does have a fantastic body. The muscles are just the right amount before it would be considered too bulky. He has a nice subtle six pack, which I love. Luckily, after a couple more stretches, he heads back into his house and I get back to reading my book. Well, I get back to staring at the page while I fantasize about my neighbor. We have been texting on and off the last couple days, just joking with each other. Thankfully, that has showed me that we can maintain a friendship even after our Wednesday night fiasco.

When Saturday evening rolls around, I tell Peyton I don’t feel like meeting up in the city and opt for a night in. I’m in my pajamas and enjoying a glass of wine when the wine must have hit me, and I text Sam.

Me: Do you think it would ruin our friendship if we had sex?

He texts back immediately.

Sam: I don’t know. I don’t think so. Why? Do you want to have sex?

Me: Obviously! Why else would I be asking?

Minutes pass by and he doesn’t respond. I’m just starting to think I have freaked him out when there is a knock at my door.
